Apologies for the radio silence. DDoDH’s various contributors and organisers have been very busy in their working lives and consequently this website has been neglected. The last significant news is detailed below.
The Planning Inspectorate’s ‘consultation’ closed on March 12th. They will submit their findings to the Secretary of State on June 12th. In the meantime, we have been waiting for the lab results of the pollution testing we carried out in January and February. These are now available and we’ll be announcing them this week.
Meanwhile, the Open Floor Hearing at Deptford Lounge on February 5th 2014 was extremely well attended by an estimated 100 local people. Twenty of those stood up to speak in front of the Planning Inspectorate. Speakers included residents from Crossfields estate, Resolution Way, those living near St Paul’s Church, and Deptford High Street Community Garden Association. Dame Joan Ruddock was the first to speak (you can read her speech here).
You can listen to a recording of the hearing on the Planning Inspectorate’s website by going to this page: type ‘Deptford’ into the Filter box, click on ‘Next’ under the Filter box, then scroll down to the microphone sign at the bottom of the page where you should find ‘140205 WW010001 Open floor hearing Deptford Lounge’. They don’t make it easy!
